Illegal fishing at 23rd Mile

Border Police officers within Pardina Border Police Sector, Tulcea County detected, while fulfilling daily tasks, detected two people fishing by using fishing nets forbidden by law. The twenty fishing nets, 700 meters long, were assessed and the amount of fish found on the boat was handed over to specific companies for the purpose of lost recovery. Cigarettes Sized in Constanta and Vama Veche

Border Police officers within Coast Guard while carrying out specific activities within the area of responsibility in order to counter and prevent cigarettes smuggling and fiscal evasion seized 20.800 unstamped cigarettes. Border Police officers within Vama Veche Border Crossing Point, Constanta County, detected in the trunk of an Opel driven by a Romanian citizen, 41 years old, leaving in Constanta, 20.000 undeclared cigarettes, hidden. The whole amount of cigarettes, valuing about 8.000 LEI was seized by Border Police officers and on person’s name were drawn prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of smuggling and fiscal evasion. Border Police officers within Constanta Border Police Territorial Service detected at a market in Constanta a Romanian citizen, 53 years old, selling 800 cigarettes wrapped in 40 unstamped packages. The whole amount of cigarettes was seizes a fine was imposed on the name of the person.




Undeclared clothing

Border Police officers within Vama Veche Border Crossing Point, Constanta County, detected in the trunk of a vehicle registered in Romania, clothing articles without justifiable documents and undeclared.The goods, valuing about 1.600 LEI, were assessed and a fine was imposed on the name of the person.

Criminality on public roads

Border Police officers within Coast Guard while carrying out border surveillance and control activities within the area of responsibility detected four crimes in regards to traffic legislation. In Murighiol, Constanta County, a Romanian citizen, 35 years old was detected driving a Dacia without owning a driving license. In Constanta, M.F., a Romanian citizen, 43 years old, handed over to Border Police officers an insurance policy and a technical inspection ticket both falsified. In the area of responsibility of Baneasa Border Police Sector, Constanta County, a young man, 23 years old was driving a BMW without owning a driving license. In the area of responsibility of Ostrov Border Police Sector, Constanta County, E.T, 59 years old was driving a vehicle without being registered. The imposed legal measures were taken by Border Police officers against the aforementioned people.

VW Golf in traffic without being registered

Border Police officers within Calarasi Border Police Sector detected in traffic a VW Golf in traffic without being registered, driven by a 25 years old Romanian. Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of driving a car without being registered were drawn by Border Police officers.

Eight kilos of fish, illegally captured

Border Police officers within Calarasi Border Police Sector while carrying out specific activities within the area of responsibility in order to counter illegal fishing detected a man carrying eight kilos of fish, illegally captured. The fishing tools were seized and the fish was given back to the owner and prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of illegal fishing and theft were drawn by Border Police officers.

Cigarettes in a trunk

Border Police officers within Moravita Border Police Sector, Timis County, detected in a vehicle, 74o packages of cigarettes, Fast and L&M brand, valuing about 7.400 LEI, stamped by Serbian authorities but without justifiable documents. The whole amount of cigarettes was seized and handed over to custom authorities, fines being imposed on the names of the persons.

Migrants detected at the border

Border Police officers within Lunga Border Police Sector, Timis County, detected two men, with ages from 22 to 29, Algerians, who illegally crossed the Serbian-Romanian border. Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of illegal state border crossing were drawn by Border Police officers.

Romanian citizen with a suspended driving license

Border Police officers within Bihor County detected a Romanian citizen driving a vehicle with a suspended driving license.Border Police officers incriminated the man for not having a valid driving license which allows a person to drive a car on public roads.

Two tractors stolen from Italy detected in Lazuri

Border Police officers within Satu Mare County are investigating a case in which are involved two Romanian citizens, one of 32 years old and the other 23 years old. The two men are incriminated for hiding stolen goods, on their property being found two John Deere tractors stolen from Italy. The tractors value about 90.000 EUROS.

Vehicle seized at Siret Border Crossing Point for smuggling cigarettes

A joint team consisting of Border Police officers and Customs officers detected over 1.000 packages of cigarettes, Ukrainian made, hidden in the floor of a vehicle driven by a Romanian citizen. The Fiat Ulysse vehicle, valuing about 4.000 LEI, was seized. The cigarettes, valuing about 1.219 LEI, were sized by custom authorities and the person was imposed a fine of 6.000 LEI.

Statistics regarding Romanian Border Police activity in the last 24 hours


In the last 24 hours, in the competence areas - meaning border crossing points and "green border" - Border Police officers detected:
  • 57 illegal deeds (18 crimes and 39 penalties) committed by Romanian and foreign citizens;
  • the amount of penalties reaches approximately 16,200 lei;
  • undeclared goods (which were to be smuggled into the country), which exceeded the customs’ legal provisions or were suspected as being counterfeit with a total value of 412,200 lei, were detected;
  • the flow of passengers and means of transportation at the border crossing points was about 85,100 people, both at the entry and at the exit and over 25,300 means of transportation.
    8 foreign citizens were refused entry due to the fact that they did not meet the entry requirements and 26 Romanian citizens were not allowed to exit Romania out of various legal grounds.
