Cigarettes seized and criminal file for smuggling

Romanian Border Police officers within Galati land Border Crossing Point, Iasi County a citizen of Romania and also of Republic of Moldova (double citizenship) trying to illegally bring into Romania, hidden inside his car, 43.000 cigarettes made in Republic of Moldova.
The cigarettes, valuing about 7.000 LEI and the vehicle were seized. 



Toyota Land Cruiser haunted by German police, detected at Oancea

Romanian Border Police officers within Oancea Border Crossing Point, Galati County, detected a man, German citizen driving a Toyota Land Cruiser, declared stolen in Germany. The vehicle values about 434.000 LEI and was seized by Border police officers. 

Romanian tourists rescued on Bulgarian territory

This morning, around 04.30 hours, a bus carrying tourists from Turkey to Romania was stuck in the snow on Bulgaria’s territory, at about 200 meters away from Vama Veche Border Crossing Point. Romanian Border Police officers within Coast Guard together with Bulgarian border authorities acted in order to clear the road.
Thus, at 10.15, all 19 passengers arrived safely at Vama Veche Border Crossing Point.
Romanian Border Police officers took all the necessary measures for the passengers to reach as soon as possible their final destination.

Ten migrants detected at the border

Romanian Border Police officers within Lunga Border Police Sector, Timis County, detected ten illegal migrants, Algerians, Tunisians and Libyans, with ages from 203 to 30 years old, illegally crossing the Serbian- Romanian green border.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of illegal state border crossing were drawn by Border Police officers, following at the end of the investigation to be taken all the imposed legal measures.

Falsified identity card, detected at the border

Romanian Border Police officers within Cenad Border Crossing Point, Timis County detected a 21 years old Romanian, who tried to illegally cross the Romanian-Hungarian border by using a falsified identity card.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of illegal border crossing and of complicity to forgery were drawn by Border Police officers.

Counterfeit goods detected at Giugiu

Border Police officers within Giurgiu Border Crossing Point detected a Romanian citizen who tried to illegally bring into Romania about 200 counterfeit bottles of perfume.
Border Police officers acted in accordance with the law, assessing the goods.

Hidden inside the trunk of a Romanian truck

Romanian Border Police officers within Bors Border Crossing Point, Bihor County detected five men, four Moroccans and one Tunisian trying to illegal cross the Romanian-Hungarian border in order to reach Schenen area. They were hidden inside the trunk of a truck carrying mostly detergents.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of illegal state border crossing were drawn by Border Police officers on the name of the five migrants and of trafficking in human beings on the name of the driver.

Moroccan with falsified documents at the border

Romanian Border Police officers within Nadlac Border Crossing Point, Arad County, detected a man, 21 years old, citizen of Morocco, trying to illegally exit Romania by using a forged Bulgarian identity card.
Prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of attempt of illegal state border crossing and of forgery were drawn by Border Police officers.

Statistics regarding Romanian Border Police activity in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, in the competence areas - meaning border crossing points and "green border" - Border Police officers detected:
  • 25 illegal deeds (12 crimes and 13 penalties) committed by Romanian and foreign citizens;
  • the amount of penalties reaches approximately 900 lei;
  • undeclared goods (which were to be smuggled into the country), which exceeded the customs’ legal provisions or were suspected as being counterfeit with a total value of 437,100 lei, were detected;
  • the flow of passengers and means of transportation at the border crossing points was about 72,900 people, both at the entry and at the exit and over 21,800 means of transportation.
    13 foreign citizens were refused entry due to the fact that they did not meet the entry requirements and 12 Romanian citizens were not allowed to exit Romania out of various legal grounds.
