Chiar daca studiul Novel arata o medie constanta a contrabandei, in 2012 si in prima parte a anului in curs, de circa 13 %, la nivel regional lucrurile stau diferit. In Sud Vestul tarii contrabanda se situa, in ianuarie, la peste 20%, in martie la 15,5%, insa in unele judete, precum Mehedinti, atinge si 30 - 40 % cota de piata.
