Statistics regarding Romanian Border Police activity in the last 24 hours


In the last 24 hours, in the competence areas - meaning border crossing points and "green border" - Border Police officers detected:
  • 62 illegal deeds (15 crimes and 47 penalties) committed by Romanian and foreign citizens;
  • the amount of penalties reaches approximately 10,000 lei;
  • undeclared goods (which were to be smuggled into the country), which exceeded the customs’ legal provisions or were suspected as being counterfeit with a total value of 10,000 lei, were detected;
  • the flow of passengers and means of transportation at the border crossing points was about 124,000 people, both at the entry and at the exit and over 29,000 means of transportation.
    9 foreign citizens were refused entry due to the fact that they did not meet the entry requirements and 33 Romanian citizens were not allowed to exit Romania out of various legal grounds.

Thirteen illegal migrants detected at the Romanian border on their way to Schengen area


Border Police officers within Timis Border Police County Inspectorate detected during this week-end thirteen illegal migrants who had crossed illegally the Serbian - Romanian border. Most of the migrants were apprehended within the competency area of Lunga Border Police Sector.
  • On 09.07.2011, around 08.30, Border Police officers within Jimbolia Border Police Sector detected in the competency area, in Jimbolia, three men who spoke no Romanian and had no identity documents. Border Police officers led the aforementioned people on the premises of Jimbolia Border Police Sector in order to sort out the situation.
    On this occasion was established the fact they are citizens of Alger, Morocco and Tunisia with ages between 23 and 31 years old, who illegally crossed the Serbian - Romanian border.
  • On 09.07.2011, around 09.15, Border Police officers within Lunga Border Police Sector detected in the competency area, close to the road connecting Comlosu Mare to Teremia Mare, two people who spoke no Romanian and had no identity documents. Border Police officers led the aforementioned people on the premises of Lunga Border Police Sector in order to sort out the situation.
    On this occasion was established the fact they are citizens of Morocco, 23 years old, and Burundi, 31 years old, who illegally crossed the Serbian - Romanian border.
  • On 09.07.2011, around 16.30, Border Police officers within Lunga Border Police Sector detected in the competency area, five men who spoke no Romanian and had no identity documents. Border Police officers led the aforementioned people on the premises of Lunga Border Police Sector in order to sort out the situation.
    On this occasion was established the fact they are citizens of Morocco, with ages between 21 and 31 years old, who illegally crossed the Serbian - Romanian border.
  • On 10.07.2011, around 05.30, Border Police officers within Lunga Border Police Sector detected in the competency area, in Comlosu Mare three people who spoke no Romanian and had no identity documents. Border Police officers led the aforementioned people on the premises of Lunga Border Police Sector in order to sort out the situation.
    On this occasion was established the fact they are citizens of Alger and Morocco, 24 years, who illegally crossed the Serbian - Romanian border.
In all the cases prior acts of criminal investigation in terms of the offense of state border illegal crossing were drawn by Border Police officers, at the end of the investigation being taken the impose legal measures.
After being interviewed, some of the migrants asked for one of the protection forms from Romania, the territorial Romanian Immigration Office, Timisoara, being informed in order to take over the cases.
