Criminal record for poaching


Border Police officers within Timis Border Police County Inspectorate detected a baby deer shot and two men carrying a hunting rifle.
Yesterday, at about 15.00 hours, a Border Police patrol carrying out tasks in the area of responsibility, noticed gunfire in Pustinis.
A specific action was initiated, having as results the detection of two males, with no identity documents. The males were carrying a hunting rifle SKB brand, 16 mm. caliber, kept in a holster.
Following the investigation was established that the two men are Romanians, 53 and 63 years old, living in Timis County. After searching the area, at about 1 km. away from the apprehending area, were found, thrown in a channel, three hunting tubes, 16 mm caliber and a shot baby deer, weighting around 30 kilos.
The aforementioned people stated that they were present there, in that area in order to check the filed and that they had nothing to do with the death animal.
The seized goods and the shot baby deer were handed over to representatives of Timis County Police Inspectorate and the investigations are in process under the coordination of Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances Service.

Statistics regarding Romanian Border Police activity in the last 24 hours


In the last 24 hours, in the competence areas - meaning border crossing points and "green border" - Border Police officers detected:
  • 65 illegal deeds (20 crimes and 45 penalties) committed by Romanian and foreign citizens;
  • the amount of penalties reaches approximately 10,400 lei;
  • undeclared goods (which were to be smuggled into the country), which exceeded the customs’ legal provisions or were suspected as being counterfeit with a total value of 577,500 lei, were detected;
  • the flow of passengers and means of transportation at the border crossing points was about 124,000 people, both at the entry and at the exit and over 30,200 means of transportation.
    17 foreign citizens were refused entry due to the fact that they did not meet the entry requirements and also 1 foreign and 33 Romanian citizens were not allowed to exit Romania out of various legal grounds.
